When my Dad would talk to people who had been dating for a while, he'd always ask "When is the long table?" It was his way of asking when people were getting married because in Filipino culture it is customary for the entire wedding party to sit at a long head table. I always thought it was a funny question. It seemed like he was putting the couple on the spot, but I knew it was always said with good intentions.

Dad, the "long table" for Daniel and I has finally come. I know you will be celebrating with us in spirit.
